Announcing our new Language Director!

Happy Fall everyone! We’ve had a busy summer and we have a lot of new projects coming out in the next few months. But first, we are so happy to share that we have a new member of our team! Kehte Deer is from Six Nations of the Grand River where he lives with his wife and daughters. He belongs to the Bear Clan and the Mohawk Nation. He is joining SI as our Language Director and as one of his first projects, he has written the first in a series of Cayuga language books. Please join us in welcoming Kehte to our team!

Celebrating One Year of Storytelling!

Sgę:nǫ́ˀ swagwé:gǫh! It is so exciting to celebrate our one year anniversary of creating stories and sharing them with the world. The last year has been amazing and we are so grateful for all the support we've received. Gwahs oweh nya:weh to you all for your generosity and kindness!

We are kicking off this year with the launch of the YA Fantasy book, The Fortune Teller's Daughtera story about a young Haudenosaunee girl who is yanked out of her everyday life when her mother goes missing and she suddenly acquires the power of lightning.

Book Launch!

Sgę:no Swagwe:gǫh! Over the last few months we have been helping a good friend and fellow community member of ours design and format her book! It's been a very exciting process that we've been delighted to be involved in. Now that book is ready to be shared with the world and we are so pleased to invite you to a special event launching 'Art of Peace' by Elizabeth Doxtater and 'Spirit & Intent' by Sara General. This joint book launch is being held at the Woodland Cultural Centre on Friday November 25, 2016 and starts at 7 p.m. We hope you can join us!
